Frequently asked questions

Answers to the questions patients ask most about treatment, travel and recovery in Turkey.

Treatment, travel and recovery

How do I start?

Fill in the free quote form or message us on WhatsApp. A coordinator will ask a few questions about your health and goals, review your details with the surgeon and send you your treatment options and a written quote.

Is it safe to have surgery in Turkey?

Turkey has many experienced surgeons and modern hospitals, and health tourism is regulated by the Ministry of Health. We work only with experienced surgeons in hospitals and clinics that hold a health tourism authorisation certificate. Every operation carries some risk, and your surgeon will explain the risks of your procedure before you agree to it.

What is included in the package?

Your hospital stay, pre-operative tests, the operation, anaesthesia, medication, VIP transfers between the airport, hotel and hospital, a medical translator and daily meals. A companion can travel with you at no extra cost. Your written quote confirms exactly what is included.

Why is treatment in Turkey more affordable?

Lower running costs, staff costs and exchange rates mean the same treatment usually costs less than private care in the UK, Ireland, the US, Canada or Australia. The lower price reflects these costs, not lower standards.

How long should I stay in Istanbul?

It depends on the treatment. Some dental and minor cosmetic procedures need only a few days, while major surgery usually means a stay of around a week or longer. Your coordinator will confirm the number of nights before you book.

Which airport should I fly into?

Most patients fly into Istanbul Airport or Sabiha Gökçen Airport. Send us your flight details and our driver will meet you when you land.

Can I bring a companion?

Yes. A companion can travel with you at no extra cost and their meals are included during your stay.

Will there be a language barrier?

No. Our coordinators speak English, and a medical translator is with you at the hospital throughout your care.

What tests will I have before surgery?

Most patients have blood tests and other checks chosen for their treatment and health, together with consultations with the surgeon and anaesthetist. Your operation only goes ahead once you have been assessed as fit for surgery.

When can I fly home?

Your surgeon decides when you are fit to fly, based on your procedure and how your recovery is going. Your coordinator plans your dates around this from the start.

What support will I get after I return home?

Your coordinator stays in touch on WhatsApp and is available 24 hours a day. You can send questions and photos of your recovery, and we pass them on to your surgeon whenever needed.

What if I am not happy with my result?

Talk to your coordinator first, so your surgeon can review your recovery. Our revision policy explains when revision surgery may be offered and on what terms.
