Abdominal Etching, formally known as Liposculpture, is a Body Aesthetic surgery that aims to contour and showcase the abdominal muscles through strategically using Liposuction to remove the unwanted fat around the lower abdomen. Abdominal Etching creates a six pack through the at removal and is therefore dubbed the six pack surgery or the six pack liposuction surgery.
Reaching aesthetic goals with only diet and exercise is hard and sometimes impossible. Diet and exercise have long been touted as the pillars of weight loss, bodybuilding, and athletic training. However, no matter how perfectly a diet and exercise regimen are executed, certain deposits of fat may prove to be resilient.
Fat around the lower abdomen, belly area, is one of the areas of the body that is most likely to keep small amounts of fat even with extensive weight loss. The type of fat on the lower abdomen is called Subcutaneous fat, which is used by the body to protect vital organs, prevent heat loss, and protect against any physical external stress. As this fat serves an important role for the body, subcutaneous fat is incredibly resistant to exercise and diet.
Abdominal Etching, also called six pack surgery, provides an easier and more accessible method to achieve a six pack.

Also, the patient's body will be examined and measured, and the surgeon might have photographs taken so that the patient can compare the appearance before and after the FDL Tummy Tuck surgery.
Abdominal Etching starts by anesthesia being administered to the patient. Then the surgeon makes incisions on the sides of the abdomen. The incisions are very small and easy to hide.
The surgeon then, with an artistic precision, starts applying liposuction around the abdominal muscles. The surgeon carefully sculpts each abdominal muscle one by one. Ancillary muscle groups may also be sculpted including the serratus muscle and the external oblique muscle. Fat deposits may also be taken from the sides overlying the oblique abdominal muscles to narrow the midsection. The incisions are then sealed with sutures. The surgery takes 2 to 3 hours to complete.
After the procedure, the patients are recommended to:
Patients will most likely be able to resume most of their daily activities 2 weeks after the operation. Swelling will fully subside within 2 to 5 months and allow the full results of the Abdominal Etching to be visible.
The results of Abdominal Etching are permanent as long as there isn’t excess weight gain.
Abdominal etching is considered a low-risk cosmetic procedure. But like any surgery it has risks associated with it. These risks include, but are not limited to:
